Hi, my name is Karen and I am pregnant with my first child and due in June. I met Erika at Handmade in Eagle (so sad they closed!) and she told me about this group. I am very excited to meet other moms who cloth diaper.
It has been a bit of a complicated pregnancy so far (baby is fine!), and I am still not feeling too well, but I hope to get out and meet up with you all sometime soon. I know I need some help trying to figure out which cloth diaper will work best for us and I am trying really, really hard to only get the things we truly need for the baby. Looking forward to meeting some of you soon!

Congratulations and welcome!
I think everyone has their favorite diapering method, but with this group you get to see them "live" which helps. Confidence and experience with the baby helps too - I started with one method (all-in- ones AIOs) and now wouldn't do anything but prefolds (semi-prefolded cloths diapers)and soakers (knitted woollen covers).

Welcome aboard! I'm still very new to the group, but have been using cloth on my girls for more than three years running now, and have tried lots of different things in that time. One thing I've learned is that each baby is different, and the same thing might not work exactly the same way on a different baby. It is a LOT of fun, though, and while you'll need far less than you'd think, it's usually handy to have a few extra around for those "just in case days" that always seem to come up with a baby! Hoping to meet you soon, and congratulations!

Thanks everybody! I thought the AIOs were pretty much the only way to go, but from looking around here, I found a link the website for Green Mountain Diapers and there is sooo much good information on there about other options. The irony of moving to Idaho from New York only to possibly buy cloth diapers from a company in Vermont does make me chuckle a bit I was looking at the patterns for the sew your own diapers, and I suddenly felt the need to clean off the craft table and go buy some fabric...this could get dangerous, lol!

welcome, karen! congratulations on your little one! ;D with my older daughter i used every type of diaper under the sun and now with my second am using prefolds and wool almost exclusively, with a few fitteds thrown in for outings. simple and works great! i have to agree that it could (and does!!) get dangerous. this group is full of enablers.
