Hi there!
I just joined the group this week. I am not too familiar with ProBoards and getting used to it.
I have 5 kids, Jonathan in heaven, Gretchen is 9, Caleb 7, Joshua almost 6, and Maggie is 3 1/2 months. I homeschool the older kids. Maggie is our first baby to cloth diaper and it has been a great experience - wish I would have tried sooner!
I now have many friends that cd and that got me to check it out. I want to be self-sufficient and thrifty so it was all making sense to make the plunge. During my pregnancy I frequented Diaper Swappers and accumulated a stash of great variety: Thirsties, Bum Genius, Kissaluvs, Blue Dogs, wahm fitteds, LiteWraps, ProWraps, fleece wraps, Pocket Change, bamboo, hemp, prefolds, you get the idea - I feel like we have tried it all!
So now that I am decided upon what I like and determining buying another size - I want to go with the one-size fitted style in all natural fabrics with probably wool covers. And I want to sew them myself. I was looking on-line for a snap press and had sticker shock. Sooo, while looking on-line for a local resource I found the Boise Cloth Diaper site and then found a link to your group.
I would love to get to know other mamas that sew cd - and I would especially love some mentoring for my learning curve! And it possible I would appreciate input on a snap press, maybe I could try someone's? I think I can do this but I hate the idea of buying a press and then realizing that I stink at making diapers - YNWIM? Maybe I have beginners cold feet.
I do have a good sewing machine and a decent serger. I also have lots of flannel and some OBV, hemp fleece and jersey.
Thanks for letting me join and listening to me ramble!
Look forward to meeting you soon,
Janey
