I hope it's ok to just jump in here! I've heard about this group here and there, but just came across this site today. So glad to see so many cd'ing mamas in the area!
I'm Sarah. I live in the East End in Boise. My daugter Aurelia Josephine is 11 weeks old. We had a beautiful labor at home that culminated in a c-section at St. Lukes. Not the start we hoped for, but I am so blessed to have a healthy, usually happy baby. I'm more in love with her everyday.
I'm gay and have a lovely partner. Because I'm femme, I struggle with 'passing' in the straight community. Now that I have a child, I'm practically invisible, so I just have to speak up more for families like mine.
We love cloth diapering and have tried most of the one-size, pocket options and grobaby. Our favorites are the BG 4.0 and Smartipants. I was a little worried about CD'ing because I didn't know anyone that did it and it seems to have this reputation for being gross and hard. I don't think it's either. We have a great system, it's saved us money, doesn't take much time, and I believe is 100% better for my DD and the earth. But I'm preaching to the choir here, no?
What else? We co-sleep, don't vaccinate, wear her in the moby, ring sling, or ergo. We believe in attachment parenting and focus early neuro developement. I still can't believe how lucky I am to be a mom.
