Hello again, I had a little trouble finding the replys to my message. From reading the bits here and there, this group seems great. I will check back for further approval. Thanks, Juana

Hello!
I met Jamie at the downtown Starbucks a few weeks ago but haven't logged onto the forum yet.
I was stunned to hear I wasn't the only person in Boise (let alone the planet) that uses cloth diapers. People looked at me like I had fallen out of a tree and hit my head when I said we were going to use cloth diapers with our first. In the interest of full disclosure we do use disposable diapers when we're out and about for long periods. I "enjoy" asking about diaper wraps at baby stores. It's like a hobby, not an interesting one but a hobby.
My knitting isn't superb but my mom really wants me to pick it back up.....so does Knit Wits so this group sounds great for getting started again.
We have two boys; Grady is 3.5 and Will just turned 2 months on July 8. I work full time and teach as an adjunct for BSU every once in a while. Aside from that I burp, I feed, I change diapers and I find interesting ways to make Superman capes stay on the three year old. I seem to recall being more interesting about a hundred years ago but I think I traded that Nikki in for mommy Nikki. I like mommy Nikki better.
Toodles!
Nikki

Hi Ladies, My name is Nancy and I have two beautiful children that are 21 months old. I just came across this forum from a cloth diapering website and thought I would check it out. I wanted to do cloth diapers with my two when they were little but I just got so overwhelmed. Perhaps if I had known about this group I would have had better luck. Do you think it is too late to start using them now? Thanks, Nancy

Nancy it is not too late. I started my last child at birth and up until he was about 9 or 10 months he was in cloth. I went back to school and he went into sposies. When we moved back here to Idaho I put him back in cloth. He was just under 2 like your babies. It is never too late for cloth.

Thanks Ladies!! What cloth diapers do you use? The ones that I had bought (Kushies) before they were born are almost to small. I have heard about the pocket diapers? Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, Nancy

Nancy,
I use prefolds or fitteds w/ covers (PUL or wool) and pockets. I make most of my fitteds and pockets. I have used Fuzzi Bunz and BumGenius OS pockets and liked both. It all depends on how much of an investment you want to make. Prefolds are cheap and work great, pockets can be spendy $16+ each.

Nikki, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who sometimes feel I traded myself in for the mommy role! I'd much rather the 'mommy me' than the old me...however interesting others would call me. I'm so glad to 'meet' you. I have two boys out (3 1/2 and 2) and one arriving soon, so I'm into the cape attatching and ball wrangling lifestyle as well! I look forward to meeting in person one day! These ladies are so awesome!
